Paths
Paths as lines of movement.
We walk different paths, sometimes not knowing where the next step will lead. But there are points of intersection - moments when roads converge. In these encounters, a sense of belonging is woven in, and for a moment, uncertainty loses its weight.

Passengers
photos
The process used as the basis for obtaining the prints presented in the project is the classic silver bromide print in the darkroom of a photo lab. The portraits of people in masks were taken on a phone in the Moscow metro and printed using a photo enlarger, where a digital negative is used instead of a film negative, and the smartphone screen is used instead of the enlarger lamp, the matrix of which becomes visible when the print size is increased.
The photographs show the faces of metro passengers in medical masks. They are tired, closed off from each other, lost - as if frozen in a strange half-sleep. The metro is a place for moving, where people of different social strata, ages and nationalities intersect for a short period of time, a place where you are simultaneously in a crowd and feel lonely. The characters in the photos are frozen in time, like cut-out portraits from Soviet newspapers, only now the typographic raster is replaced by a digital matrix. On the faces of the passengers, we see melancholy, alienation and the fragmentation of modern human connections, expectation, hope and tension...

Event horizon
Intallation
"Event Horizon" expresses the difficulty in planning for the near future. The white square with a red line represents the purity of the present moment, and the line itself is an attempt to limit oneself to the present, without looking far ahead. A gesture or a theory of small deeds, where the focus on the moment helps to better feel the event horizon.

We all usually follow different paths in life, but today it seems that many of our paths have one common (epi)center, and human paths diverge from it in rays in all directions.
The further the path leads, the less you want to have in common with the human in principle. You want to continue your journey as an animal, knowing no boundaries.
The trace left by a human will never be erased from the skin of the Earth (this is the worst tattoo, of course). The traces left by animals, on the other hand, sometimes disappear at the speed of light.
My "cat marks" may last slightly longer on surfaces than the natural marks of cats. In a place where I have never been. But my inner beast is already running along unknown paths ahead of me and leaving traces as it can, ignoring conventions such as distance and territorial boundaries.

A ready-made sourdough starter that you feed and maintain will, in turn, feed you. You wait and hope every day. If it doesn't work out, you start again. Step by step, manual labor disciplines and leaves you with a sense of groundedness.

The route
It's time to talk about what the opera "Route" is about and how it's structured. This is wikimapia, this is Losiny Ostrov, a huge forest in Moscow. I got hooked on the map and mentally walked the route laid through the entire park, wrote a text about what I would see if I were there, and maybe I was there. I heard voices, comments. Specifically, the comments are the voices of angels sitting on laptops in a magical forest.

We have a favorite magical forest in Estonia. It is furry and transparent at the same time. Nothing ever changes in it, and even the chanterelles have been growing in the same place for decades. This forest is like a teleporter to the permanent. One summer we embedded a winter Moscow forest in it. Now that the permanent is no more, we have to carry memories of both the Moscow and the Estonian forest with us, while fate throws us into new places where we have not yet been. The winter Moscow forest in the Estonian summer forest is now sprouting in a winter Montenegrin garden. And then who knows where else...

"An experiment combining personal experience and artificial intelligence technologies. Inspired by solo hikes in the mountains, I created text prompts that reflect my feelings during the ascent. These prompts serve as the basis for visualizations generated by AI, which viewers can see by scanning QR codes.
The project aims to explore the penetration of technology into personal space and to determine whether it can truly capture the essence of human experience. At the same time, the project raises questions about the value and uniqueness of human creative contribution to art, focusing not on AI-generated content, but on the prompt itself - the product of personal reflection and emotion."

In 1957, people looked at the sky and believed that the glowing cloud was the aurora borealis. That's what the newspapers said. That's what was written.
64 years later, I followed this trail. I was searching for the past, but I found the present. In the articles, there's the same certainty that war is peace, that black is white, that freedom is an unnecessary luxury.
The trail remained not only in the ground but also in the language. And perhaps, while it's still visible, we can still discern the future.

The Old Believers are the first Russian "dissidents."
They refused to accept the church reform, the goal of which was to harmonize the liturgical tradition of the Russian and Greek churches in order to unite the Orthodox Church with its center in Moscow. Moscow is the Third Rome. These ambitions were connected with the strengthening of the Russian state.
The church merged with the state, becoming its instrument.
Defending their right to freedom of religion and thought, the Old Believers fled from persecution and state violence into the forests. This was the first serious schism in Russian society. Many Old Believers still live in small communities in the taiga, in the mountains, and many left the country and found the right to believe in the USA, Canada, Bolivia, Uruguay, Brazil and other countries.

You don't live there anymore and have already changed three countries. There is no work at all and the money is running out completely, and you are thinking about what you can do, and then you think about art, but all you have in your head is this jumble of letters and words, all incoherent, and then there's this "Experimental Field" exhibition. It was a place like that near Moscow, "Experimental Field", kind of outside the city, but in Moscow, as if where it's possible. So, if anyone needs sound for a film or some music written, then you call.
